Dr. Romo Dimaano

Dr. Romeo Dimaano, D.C., was raised in Oxnard, Ventura County. After years of experiencing chronic low back pain and personally receiving chiropractic care with great benefit, natural health care became his long-time chosen career path.

Education

Dr. Dimaano completed his undergraduate studies at California State University, Long Beach where he earned a bachelor's degree in Public Health – Health Science. Dr. Dimaano continued on to complete his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 2006. He has been treating patients from the Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties ever since.

Special Education

In 2006, Dr. Dimaano began his postgraduate studies and completed the coursework and examination to become certified in Active Release Techinques (A.R.T.), a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique with over 500 protocols that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Dr. Dimaano has distinguished himself as the first chiropractor in Ventura County to provide A.R.T. as an adjunct to joint and sports rehabilitation. Since then, Dr. Dimaano has successfully and non-surgically had the privilege of helping numerous patients/athletes with repetitive motion injuries, overuse injuries, as well as chronic and acute pain problems (some of which being tingling of the extremities, rotator cuff syndrome, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, low back pain, headaches and plantar fasciitis).

In 2007, Dr. Dimaano completed a 105 hour postgraduate program towards achieving the certification of Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (C.C.E.P.). Completion of the program demonstrates proficiency in advanced principles of TMJ, Ribs, Shoulder Girdle, Upper Extremity Manipulation, Lower Extremity Manipulation, Extremity Rehabilitation, advanced principles of Foot, Gait, and Orthotics, Soft Tissue Methods for the Spine and Extremities, and Global Assessment of the Extremities.

In 2010, Dr. Dimaano successfully completed a 300 hour postgraduate program towards achieving his level 3 diplomat in rehabilitation through the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (DACRB). Completion of the program demonstrates expertise in advanced principles and the implementation of rehabilitative methods and treatments geared at achieving optimal results.

In 2012, he completed the course work and certification towards the Functional Movement Screen (FMS)/Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) I & II, an approach that evaluates the body's movement patterns to isolate the root cause of injuries and direct a more efficient care plan for pain and dysfunction.

In 2014, Dr. Dimaano continued to broaden his scope of practice with courses such as Dynamic Neurmuscular Stabilization (DNS - A/B/C) developed by The Prague School of Rehabilitation and Manual Medicine. Completion of these courses demonstrates competency in groundbreaking neurodevelopmental and rehabilitation principles designed to restore and stabilize locomotor function.

In 2015, Dr. Dimaano completed the coursework and testing to become Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified. The TPI Certification program is an evidence based, educational pathway designed to teach industry professionals how to increase player performance through a deep understanding of the of how the body functions during the golf swing, The Body-Swing Connection.

With his functional treatment/rehabilitation approach and success with soft tissue and repetitive stress injuries, Dr. Dimaano has quickly become an instrumental, rehabilitation resource for numerous athletes, both endurance and extreme, around Southern California. In addition, he proudly offers and instructs Chi Running® / Chi Walking® workshops which have helped countless athletes and casual runners transform their running to be more energy efficient and injury free.

Dr. Dimaano serves as a community-wide educator and speaker by conducting various workshops/seminars for various interest groups, clubs, and companies. In addition, Dr. Dimaano continues to support our local community by providing care as an on-site doctor/chiropractor to numerous endurance and extreme sporting events (5K, 10K, Half Marathons, Marathons, Duathlons, Triathlons, CrossFit Competitions, Olympic Lifting Competitions, etc.) produced by local race directors and gyms.

Dr. Dimaano, a husband and father of two, enjoys strength training, running, cycling, swimming, competing in triathlons and spending time with his family.

Dr. Aaron Ayala is a board certified chiropractor who was born and raised in Oxnard, CA. Dr. Ayala was first introduced to chiropractic as a child by his grandmother and mother. He saw first hand the importance of chiropractic and its ability to keep the body functional. As an athlete he depended on chiropractic to stay in the game and compete at optimal level. These first hand experiences helped him realize that he wanted a career in the health care field as a chiropractor.

Dr. Aaron Ayala attended Oxnard College where he earned his associates degree in Science. Dr. Ayala went on to receive his bachelors degree in Human Biology from Cleveland Chiropractic College. He then continued his education, receiving his Doctorate degree in Chiropractic from Cleveland Chiropractic College, Los Angeles in 2012. Since 2012,Dr. Ayala has successfully practiced in Camarillo Ca. and had the opportunity to share his gift and treat individuals from Ventura County and surrounding Counties.

While in Chiropractic College, Dr. Ayala grew fond of Extremity manipulation and Rehabilitation, he understood the importance of the body moving as a functional locomotive system and the role it plays in sports medicine. While in school Dr. Ayala completed hours of post graduate hours in Extremity adjusting including; the CCEP Course-Certified Chiropractic Extremity Program (Board Eligible): TMJ, Ribs, and Shoulder Dysfunction, Upper Extremity Manipulation, Lower Extremity Manipulation. The CCSP-Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner Program(Board Eligible) : Chiropractic Management of the Extremities, Advanced Extremity and Spinal Manipulation and Rehab.

In 2012 Dr. Ayala completed The Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner program completing 112 Hours of Post Graduate Hours. By completing these hours, Dr. Ayala shows the highest standards of excellence and clinical competences in sports medicine and physical fitness in a clinical and outdoor setting

In 2012 Dr. Ayala began Perfecting Active Release Technique: The Gold Standard In Soft Tissue Treatment, by Getting Certified In Soft Tissue Management of the Spine. Amazed with the results, Dr. Ayala went on to complete Active Release Techniques Soft Tissue Management Systems of the Upper Extremity, and Soft Tissue Management of the Lower Extremity. Dr. Ayala became Full Body Certified in Active Release Technique in 2014, making his practice the leader in full body and global approach to sports medicine. In 2015 Dr. Ayala continued his education in Active Release Technique and broadened his practice by completing Soft Tissue Management Systems of Long Nerve Entrapment enabling Dr. Ayala to further handle complicated chronic and acute conditions of Sciatica, Stenosis, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Carpal Tunnel, Disc Herniation’s, Extremity Weakness, Neuralgia and Nerve Entrapments throughout the body. In 2016 Dr. Ayala Completed Active Release Techniques Complex Protocols. Certification in Complex Protocols allows Dr. Ayala to not only address complicated conditions with-in the affected tissues, but in-between these tissues as well. One tissue or structure can affect another structure biomechanically and it can also affect the other structure directly. Complex Protocols addresses this by identifying problems with motion, pressure, or tension between adjacent tissues. Dr. Ayala, with the help of Active Release Technique, has successfully and non-surgically had the opportunity of helping numerous patients with repetitive motion injuries, overuse injuries, Nerve Entrapment injuries, as well as chronic and acute pain. This has established Active Spine and Sports Care as the Leader in Active Release Techniques in Ventura County.

By completing The TPI course, Dr. Ayala is able to identify the root cause of a Golfer’s Chronic or Acute injury; narrowing into their movement patterns and identifying the stability or mobility problem with-in their Swing to help improve their Golf game from an orthopedic standpoint. Since 2014 Dr. Ayala has helped Golfers from the Amateur to the Professional level, improving their game from and orthopedic standpoint. Dr. Ayala has been, and continues to be, the physician on staff for many Golf Tournaments. In 2015 Dr. Ayala developed and was the lead physician for the Wellness Program in The Bunker Golf Center in Ventura Ca., Creating a complete experience for the Golfing community of Ventura County.

In November of 2014, Dr. Ayala completed the Course FMS-Functional Movement Screening. The FMS screening takes the approach of looking at the bodies movement patterns through different tests. These tests show an individuals Stability and Mobility Deficits that would put them at risk for injury or inhibit their performance in the activity they perform. Dr. Ayala has performed this The FMS Screening for local high schools and companies, helping develop rehabilitation and prehabiliatation programs for their athletes.

Dr. Ayala is continuously Active in the community, Serving as The On-Site Doctor/Chiropractor for local Running, Cycling, Crossfit/Olympic Lifting events and Pro/Amateur Golf Tournaments. Dr. Ayala Serves as the Team Doctor to West Coast Jiu Jitsu, and donates his time to Local High Schools for Injury Prevention and Treatment. He Supports the local Non-Profits and Charities to help raise money by serving as the On-Site Doctor and Providing Active Release Technique During their Sporting Events . He has been invited to work on the sidelines of many major sporting events such as: The NFL Combine, Cross Fit Games and Regionals to name a few.

In his free time Dr. Ayala enjoys doing Crossfit, Olympic Lifting, Running, Coaching Baseball, and Spending time with his Beautiful Wife.
